You know we love vintage here at The Bruns Shop (duh). But we wanted to argue our case and let you know why it's that much better than the churning machine that is 💀 FAST FASHION 💀
That churning fast fashion machine generates 100 billion garments per year and is the second most polluting industry in the world (after oil). Cool. We can basically rest our case here, right?
Not only that but the quality of the fabrics and fibres put out in clothing collections released 4-6 times per year (!!!) are getting increasingly worse. Meaning more microfibres in the ocean, and clothes that just don't last (unlike a lot of our made to last vintage pieces we will treasure forever).
Vintage means you are buying something with a story, another person who has loved the piece you now wear. Vintage means you aren't subscribing to fast fashion "trends" but showcasing your own unique style. And vintage means we don't support sweatshops exploiting underpaid workers.
Again - fast fashion bad. Slow sustainable fashion good.
